Testimonials

I have two crushed vertebrae in the middle of my back. I also sit at a computer in my office all day long. The twisting of my spine and sitting for long periods, lock up my shoulder and I frequently tweak my neck from holding the phone with my shoulder. Since I have been going to see Cathy (about four times now). I have free motion in my shoulder and my neck is feeling a lot more flexible. I have started going to her yoga classes and see a major benefit for my back and my overall stress level.  Thanks, Cathie, for moving to Boise.

My horse reared and went over backwards on top of me, breaking my leg in multiple places which required surgery.  Cathie helped me through the long and difficult recovery.  At first I went to see her twice a week, for the first 2 years.  Then once a week for the next 4.  I don't feel like I would have made it without her.  My body and muscles were so tense they just wouldn't let go.  She helped me so much and taught me how to pace myself.  I was very sad when she left.  The yoga classes she taught continue to help as I use them in my home practice

Four years ago I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. After searching out numerous doctors that only wanted to prescribe different medications or drugs, I was most fortunate in discovering that massage therapy worked the best for me.

I tried going to many different therapists in my area before meeting Cathie Woods.  Cathie's wonderful technique and knowledge of her art as a Massage Therapist has helped me more then anyone else for relief of my pain and the stress that goes along with it.

We set up bi-monthly appointments. After the first few sessions, I immediately began to notice an improvement and change in not only my physical but mental wellness.

I continued to refer people to her in hopes that they too will discover her unique and wonderful talents.

In my opinion, she is an incredible healer of body, spirit, and mind.

I have had the pleasure of having known Cathie Woods for the past twelve years.  She worked in my chiropractic office in Eagle River, Alaska for the first six of those twelve years.  Both on a personal and professional level I would say Cathie has the utmost integrity as well as superb massage therapy skills.  Even when she left my practice to start her own business I continued to refer patients to her.  It was with sadness on my part but excitement for her when I heard she was moving to Boise.  It is Eagle rivers loss and Boise’s’ gain.  I would never hesitate to refer a patient to Cathie for massage therapy and if she chose to move back to Alaska I would refer patients to her once again.

For years I struggled with problems with my upper ribs.  After seeing medical physicians and chiropractors for several years, I went in search of another form of relief from the constant pain I was having.  A friend referred me to Cathie Woods.  After a couple of visits with Cathie, she was able to help me with my physical problems.  The issues with my ribs were finally controllable.  Cathie has a special gift in knowing how to read the human body, and she has the proper training to bring healing to our bodies.

Cathie's clients miss her dearly in Alaska. We miss the work she did on our bodies, and the friendships that were formed while she was in Eagle River.  We all wish Cathie success in her new business in Boise.

I was a client of Cathie Woods for over 3 years. In that time I never ceased to be amazed by her knowledge of  the physiology of the body, vitamins, supplements and her ability to work through the different health issues I had. Her strong knowledge of the body in a holistic and integrated way was phenomenal. I always walked out feeling much better than when I arrived. Cathie uses many techniques and is a life long learner, her patients always benefited from her passion for increasing her skills. She is caring and her very touch is healing unto itself. I have had many massages in many countries, but there is only one Cathie. Alaska's loss is Idaho's gain.

Cathie Woods worked as my massage therapist  for two and a half years. When I started seeing her, I could hardly walk. My feet hurt terribly and orthopedic shoes and chiropractic adjustments did not help. I also had chronic lower back pain. With bimonthly visits, Cathie was able to open up the congested neurological zones (or whatever they are called) and I am now pain free. The only reason that she is no longer my personal body mechanic is that she moved far, far away. I hope you appreciate her down there in Boise!

Cathie also worked with my preteen daughter. She had been a tip toe walker since she started walking and had painful calves as a result. Cathie did massage and suggested a series of exercises to help with her ‘shortened’ muscles. My daughter no longer walks on her tip toes nor does she have any leg pain. I do not believe that she ‘grew out’ of the condition like the pediatricians told me would happen or that would have occurred years earlier.

Cathie Woods treated me with acupressure and massage techniques for more than three years.

What a change it made in my life!

When I first visited Cathie I  was an incredibly tense person with high stress levels, low energy levels and health problems that limited my life.  In Cathie's capable hands, with her kindness and delightful sense of humor, I was supported and nurtured on a journey back to increased energy and calm, improved health and basically taking back my life.  Since then, I have started a new career and remade my life in ways I would have never thought possible.

Cathie has been doing bodywork for more than 20 years, and truly has a deep curiosity, drive and passion for working with the body.  She has studied and practiced many different bodywork techniques over the years.   All this study and practice combined with a keen intuitive sense of what's going on in the body and how to fix it make her an amazing practitioner.

Sharing Svaroopa yoga with her clients takes it one step further.  This empowers clients to support and continue their own healing process.

I see many of Cathie Woods former clients because I work in her old office in Alaska.  We want her back and we regularly hatch schemes of how to get her back and keep her here...

Boise, Idaho you have a treasure in your midst that you don't even know about.  Take advantage of this opportunity, make an appointment with Cathie Woods while she still has space available to take on new clients!!

I have been a dental hygienist for over 30 years and have had neck and shoulder pain for almost all of those years.  I've had massage and other treatments  but I can say that Cathie was exceptional at pinpointing what area needed the most attention and as a result I have been able to extend my working years.  Thank you Cathie.

To The Residents of Boise, Idaho:
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Cathie Woods CMT, LMT and her Center for Massage and Bodywork in Boise, Idaho. I have been privileged to know of Cathie and her skills as a massage therapist for more than 10 years. For at least that long, Cathie has provided exceptional, professional, and effective therapeutic massage and body work to the community of Eagle River, Alaska. It is no secret that her reputation extends beyond Eagle River to include not only the greater Anchorage area, but also the Matanuska Valley.

Cathie is more than a massage therapist. She has a gift. She is well trained in most, if not all areas of massage and bodywork.  Her years of experience allow her to combine these skills into an effective therapeutic encounter for her patients. Not only have I experienced her healing techniques personally, I have witnessed her success with many patients I’ve referred to her over the years. In addition, I know of several instances when Cathie was the only therapist that was able to provide relief when others had failed.

When I heard that Cathie was moving to Idaho I had mixed emotions. Initially, I was excited for her new adventure, but then it occurred to me how much she would be missed. Truly our loss has been your gain. I am certain that the residents of Boise, Idaho will benefit greatly from having Cathie practice in their area. I would not hesitate to encourage anyone needing therapeutic massage and body work to seek out The Center. I have never known of a better massage therapist – ever.

Sincerely,

Teen Daughters –
Cathie’s work with my teenage daughters provided them with a world of help.  She was able to address immediate aches and pain as well as provide longer lasting deep tissue body work which helped maintain their progress.  They both gained a better sense of themselves physically and regularly asked for their next appointments.  Cathie worked well with their self-defense instructor which benefitted both outcomes.

Referrals and Gift Certificate Use

Everyone who used a gift certificate or took my suggestion to get help for significant problems was pleased with both her work and how long the improvements lasted.

Personal

I first met Cathie through a referral from someone who had been in her massage class.  I was told that she was the best in town for deep tissue work.  At that point my right shoulder was basically frozen with very limited range of motion.  Cathie soon had myrange of motion within normal limits and began working in both the cause and general improvement of neck, shoulder and arms.  In addition I experienced intention tremors which were reduced after sessions with Cathie.  I highly recommend Cathie for anyone needing deep body work.

As a 70 year old man who has lived a long life of wrestling, boxing, running sled dogs (for nearly 50 years) building our homestead and doing all the other things that go with an Alaskan lifestyle, I truly appreciated the therapeutic skills of Cathie Woods.  Of the numerous massage therapists I have seen over the years, none have provided the muscular and joint relief I got from sessions with Cathie.  Her knowledge of pressure points, muscles, connective tissue, bones etc. is phenomenal … who knew you should press here to relieve the pain there (Cathie does).  No one has ever taken the time or had the level of caring that she has.  Since Cathie left Alaska I have not been to anyone else – and I hurt like hell – but I know I’ll be disappointed and in more or less the same shape as when I walked in the door.  Come back, Cathie, we all need you … and I don’t want to move to Idaho!
